Laurie’s Lesson #005
The People in Front of You Matter Most
Yesterday was Father’s Day.
I could have posted another Laurie’s Lesson.

Instead…
I chose to live one.
I turned off social media.
I put my phone away.
I spent the day making memories with the people God has entrusted to my life.
My dad.
My sister.
My husband.
Our children.
Our grandchildren.
We shared a meal.
We laughed.
We swam.
We talked.
We simply enjoyed being together.
And not once did I think…
“I wish I’d spent more time on my phone.”
But I know one day I’ll look back and treasure every conversation, every laugh, every hug, and every memory we made together.
Technology is a wonderful tool.
But it should never replace the people sitting right in front of us.
One day, our children won’t remember how quickly we answered a text.
They’ll remember whether we looked into their eyes when they were talking.
Our grandchildren won’t remember how many posts we made.
They’ll remember that we got in the pool.
Life isn’t measured by how much content we create.
It’s measured by the love we give and the moments we share.
So today…
Put the phone down.
Look someone in the eyes.
Listen a little longer.
Laugh a little louder.
Love a little deeper.
Because the people in front of you are one of God’s greatest gifts.
❤️ Be fully present.
That’s where some of life’s greatest blessings are found.
📖 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” — Ephesians 5:16 (KJV)
❤️ Today’s Reflection
Who in your life needs more of your presence than your screen today?
🙏 Today’s Prayer
Lord, thank You for the precious people You’ve placed in my life. Help me never become so distracted by the urgent that I miss what is truly important. Teach me to be fully present, to listen well, to love deeply, and to treasure the moments that can never be repeated. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If this lesson encouraged you, consider putting your phone down for a while today and giving someone you love your undivided attention.
I have a feeling they’ll remember that far longer than anything you could post online. ❤️
