Don’t Miss the Joys of Today

Laurie’s Lesson #014

Don’t Miss the Joys of Today While Chasing the Goals of Tomorrow

The other day, Kevin and I were talking during one of our long road trips. (Those are some of my favorite conversations.)

He said something that really stayed with me…

“Don’t miss the joys of today while chasing the goals of tomorrow.”

Wow.

How often do we do exactly that?

We work hard.

We build businesses.

We pursue dreams.

We save for the future.

And there’s nothing wrong with having goals.

In fact, I believe God often places dreams in our hearts for a reason.

But somewhere along the way…

Many of us become so focused on where we’re going…

That we forget to enjoy where we are.

I’ve been there.

When I was younger, I was always building, creating, achieving, and working toward the next milestone.

Those things weren’t wrong.

But today, I’ve learned something I wish I had understood sooner…

Success means very little if you never stop long enough to enjoy the life God has already given you.

This afternoon, Kevin and I spent time floating in our pool.

Nothing fancy.

No big event.

No productivity.

Just laughter.

Conversation.

Sunshine.

Peace.

And I found myself thinking…

These are the moments I’ll remember.

Not another email.

Not another item on my to-do list.

These moments.

One day our grandchildren will grow up.

One day summer will end.

One day our parents won’t be here.

One day our bodies may not let us do the things we can do today.

So let’s not postpone joy until “someday.”

Call the friend.

Take the walk.

Watch the sunset.

Play with your grandchildren.

Laugh a little longer.

Hold your spouse’s hand.

Sit on the porch.

Enjoy the pool.

Celebrate the ordinary moments that quietly become life’s greatest treasures.

Goals are important.

But so is gratitude.

Build your future…

Without missing the beautiful gift of today.

📖 “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

❤️ Today’s Reflection

What simple joy has God placed in your life today that you’ve been too busy to notice?

Maybe the greatest blessing isn’t waiting in your future…

Maybe it’s already sitting beside you.

Don’t Miss the Joys of Today While Chasing the Goals of Tomorrow | Laurie’s Lesson #014

🌸 Welcome to Laurie’s Lessons Lesson #014

Helping people choose faith in every season of life.

Don’t Miss the Joys of Today While Chasing the Goals of Tomorrow

During a recent road trip, Kevin shared a simple thought that stopped me in my tracks:

“Don’t miss the joys of today while chasing the goals of tomorrow.”

Those words became today’s Laurie’s Lesson.

As Christians, it’s good to have dreams, goals, and a strong work ethic. God created us to use our gifts and serve others faithfully. But sometimes, in the pursuit of success, we unintentionally overlook the beautiful moments God has already placed right in front of us.

Today’s lesson is a reminder to build your future without missing the blessings of today.

Whether it’s time with your spouse, your children, your grandchildren, a quiet morning, a beautiful sunset, or simply floating in the pool with someone you love—these ordinary moments often become life’s greatest treasures.

📖 Key Scripture:

Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

❤️ My prayer is that today’s lesson encourages you to slow down, be present, and embrace the gift of today while continuing to pursue the purpose God has placed on your life.

One Card

💌 One card. One message. One moment of kindness can change someone’s entire day.

In a world where so much communication happens through quick texts and social media, there’s still something incredibly special about receiving a handwritten card in the mailbox.

❤️ A birthday.
🙏 A sympathy card.
🎉 A celebration.
💼 A thank you to a client.
💐 Thinking of you.
Just because.

Every card says the same thing…

“You matter.”

This screenshot shows my all-time card history (well… all-time since they started tracking it 😄).

📬 141,137 printed cards sent.

In reality, I’ve been sending cards for so many years that it’s probably closer to 250,000+.

People often ask me why I still send so many cards.

Because relationships matter.

Business is built on relationships.
Friendships are strengthened through appreciation.
Families grow closer through intentional acts of kindness.

I’ve learned that the smallest gestures often create the biggest impact.

So here’s my question for you…

How many people are you intentionally encouraging each month?

Not because you expect something in return…
Not because it’s good marketing…
But because every person deserves to know they are seen, valued, and appreciated.

You never know what someone is walking through.

Your next card…
Your next note…
Your next act of kindness…

…might be exactly what someone needed that day. ❤️

Keep showing up.
Keep encouraging.
Keep loving people well.

The world could use a little more kindness.

❤️ Laurie Delk Radecki

Happy 33rd Anniversary

🎉 Happy Anniversary to Me! 🎉

Today marks 33 years since I made one of the biggest decisions of my life—to become a Work-At-Home Mom and launch my web design, graphic design, branding, and marketing company.

What started as a leap of faith at my kitchen table has grown into a 33-year entrepreneurial journey filled with incredible opportunities, amazing people, lifelong friendships, and countless blessings from God.

Over these 33 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving thousands of clients, building multiple six-figure businesses, and operating almost entirely on referrals. That alone is a testimony to the power of relationships, integrity, and consistently serving others well.

Along the way…

➡️ At just 19 years old, I owned a custom blinds company, became the #1 salesperson, and earned an all-expense-paid trip to the Bahamas—my first taste of what was possible through hard work, persistence, and serving customers well.

➡️ I began my direct sales journey in my early 20s with Tupperware (yes, I earned the van! 😄).

➡️ I became a top leader in a health and wellness company in my later 20s.

➡️ I spent many years as one of the Top 20 leaders and a corporate trainer with a greeting card and relationship marketing company.

➡️ I had the honor of working alongside industry leaders, helping build online systems, coaching entrepreneurs, and supporting events that featured some of the greatest personal development speakers in the world, including Zig Ziglar.

➡️ I built a speaking and training career that has now spanned more than 25 years, speaking to audiences around the country and around the world.

➡️ I became a bestselling author, co-author, and contributor to multiple bestselling books, with another project on the horizon.

➡️ I founded and led successful networking organizations, trained hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs, and helped business owners grow through marketing, branding, relationship building, and leadership development.

➡️ Today, I continue to coach, train, mentor, and lead teams internationally while helping people discover natural, non-invasive wellness solutions and build businesses that create both income and impact.

And the learning never stops…

📚 For more than 30 years, I’ve averaged reading approximately a book a week on business, leadership, marketing, personal development, faith, and health.

🎓 I’ve invested in countless courses, certifications, conferences, and training programs to continually grow both personally and professionally.

📖 And now, at a stage when many people are slowing down, I’m going back to school to earn my Doctorate in Naturopathy because I believe God is still writing new chapters.

But perhaps the greatest lessons weren’t learned in business.

Thirteen years ago, my world changed forever when I unexpectedly lost my husband, Bryan. Suddenly, I found myself navigating unimaginable grief while raising our four children and trying to keep moving forward.

There were days when simply getting out of bed required faith.

There were moments when I didn’t know what the future would hold.

Yet even in the darkest seasons, God never left my side.

He carried me when I couldn’t carry myself.

He provided when I couldn’t see a way.

He healed what I thought would always be broken.

And in His perfect timing, He brought unexpected blessings, restoration, and a second chance at love when I married my wonderful husband, Kevin.

What once felt like the end of my story became the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.

That journey taught me that resilience isn’t about being strong enough—it’s about trusting God enough.

The journey hasn’t always been easy.

There have been victories and setbacks.
Mountaintops and valleys.
Joy and heartbreak.
Loss and restoration.

But through it all, God has remained faithful.

Every client.
Every stage.
Every book.
Every business.
Every opportunity.
Every blessing.
Every lesson.

None of it would have been possible without Him.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last 33 years, it’s this:

👉 Never stop learning.
👉 Never stop growing.
👉 Never stop serving.
👉 Never stop believing.
👉 Never stop trusting God’s timing.
👉 And never underestimate what God can do with a willing heart and a step of faith.

Here’s to 33 years of entrepreneurship, leadership, service, resilience, faith, and impact—and to whatever God has planned for the next chapter.

Thank you to every client, team member, student, coaching client, speaking event organizer, business partner, friend, and family member who has been part of this incredible journey. You have blessed my life more than you’ll ever know.

And most of all, thank You, Lord, for every open door, every closed door, every lesson, every blessing, and every opportunity to serve.

❤️ All Glory to God! ❤️

KISS = 95% word of mouth referral?

By this we mean “keep it so simple”
What if you could get repeat business from customers 2, 3, 4, or even 8 years later?
Today’s show features Allen Throndson, of Lighthouse Enterprises out of Heber, UT. Allen has specialized in remodeling kitchens and bathrooms since 2006.

Basically 90 to 95 percent of Allen’s business is referral business, and It’s really not uncommon for him to get a call from somebody that he’s done a job for up to eight years later.
Allen says…”Showing gratitude toward your customers, and taking care of your customers, are the keys to growing your business.”
Find out how a “Keep it stupid simple” relationship strategy, and being a member of a professional networking group, has earned Allen a 95% word of mouth referral based business.
