Avoid burnout, and what to do if you are there

  • Everyone experiences burnout in one way or another. Especially since COVID started and now we’re almost into the holiday season.  Most importantly, it’s crucial to be able to recognize and determine when and how you are experiencing burnout! Here are a few types of burnout and ways you can avoid experiencing it and how to overcome it if you do:
    1. Overload: Setting and sticking with daily goals will help you feel achievement each day. Achieving daily goals will give you time to enjoy hobbies and give you that much-needed me time that is hard to find time for if you feel overworked and unorganized in your daily tasks.
    2. Neglect: Lack of motivation! Negligence can be debilitating when it comes to work or other responsibilities. Find ways to celebrate your small achievements. Feeling proud of what you accomplish has a vast impact on your daily grind and work experience.
    3. Under-challenged: Boredom sets in! Find a way to make your work fun by creating challenges. Being successful at challenges will fuel your passion and enjoyment for work and build the confidence and momentum you need to take you out of burnout funk.
In a nutshell, a great way to avoid or even release burnout funk is to make self-care your focus, and here are some examples:
    1. Follow your intuitions and promptings
    2. Find a way to serve others daily
    3. Celebrate daily accomplishments
    4. Make time for yourself
    5. Change a bad attitude
    6. Learn to say “no” when needed
    7. Understand your priorities
In conclusion, stay disciplined on self-care. Learning how to recognize burnout and take the necessary steps to overcome it is critical. Figure out what you can control and possibly even find a mentor that can encourage you to step up and out of burnout. If you’re looking for a fun way to stay disciplined and focused on self-care by serving others feel free to reach out to me!

Time to be diligent at the gym!

Time to get busy again! #NoExcuses #DiligencePaysOff
Sometimes it’s SO hard to stay on that #elliptical an hour though! Haha!

Girls love to be told they are beautiful

Leaving the gym last night, this guy stops me n says, “Are you Miss Delk?”

I said, “Yes”

He said, “You are one beautiful lady”
(And no other reason cuz he just walked off n got in his truck)

No matter who they are, girls always love to be told they are pretty or beautiful.

Most girls are very critical of their self, and usually worse than anyone else could be to them….

Lift them up, tell them they are pretty, they are loved, they are beautiful, you can’t wait to see them.

(Men that goes for your daughters as well, you want to show them how a man should treat them,

looking at them respectfully, but noticing their beauty)

Building Relationships and Coincidences

#Relationships #Coincidence
Many people ask me all the time, why I spend so much time and money and effort to #KeepInTouch

This week, I traveled to East TN to not only get my hair done, with a stylist I have got to know and grown to love, but to visit one of my closest friends since I was 19 years old, and I got to have lunch w another lady on the road there with a girl I have been friends with probably over 5 years, and same thing since both of them don’t live close, I make an effort to contact when I am going that way to visit and reconnect with and build our relationship.

Facebook and other social media, texting and emails are great! I am very thankful for wonderful technology that helps me to keep in touch easier.

But I still #Love and #Cherish actual #cards in the mail as well as #inperson or #BellyToBelly as they say.

Today, I got a phone call from a man that I hadn’t spoke to in probably 10 years. He is still on my Keep in Touch, #ChristmasCard list.

In our short catch up talk – not only did he want to re-check in about possibly using my cards service for his #personal and #professional life, but also with talking, it was funny, I mentioned remembering him last week, and told him why, and he said, I just read a book on that, was able to give me that information for a health issue I have had, and then he also mentioned his daughter just lost her husband, and so I was able to give some info that might be able to help her, since I have walked in those shoes.

It is really amazing, when you stop to listen, and build those relationships. It not only will greatly improve your life emotional, spiritually, physically, personally, but financially and professionally.

Who just came across your mind while reading this note? Reach out to them today, build that relationship…..if it is *tough*…..that is even more of a reason…..you are not promised tomorrow to do it, and your life will be better if you do it today. <3
