Laurie’s Lesson #007 – Stop Losing People in the First 3 Seconds!

Today I had the privilege of meeting with one of my real estate clients to talk about marketing, relationship marketing, referral marketing, and social media strategy.
One piece of advice they had been given was to make their videos change pictures as FAST as possible to keep people’s attention.
My response?
Yes… but not TOO fast.
There is a balance.
If your content moves too slowly, people may scroll by.
But if it moves too quickly, your audience doesn’t have time to process what they’re seeing. Instead of grabbing their attention, you may actually overwhelm them—and they’ll scroll away.
The goal isn’t to create chaos…
The goal is to create curiosity.
💡 Remember:
✅ Attention gets the click.
✅ Value earns the watch.
✅ Consistency builds trust.
✅ Relationships build businesses.
Whether you’re in real estate, direct sales, coaching, ministry, or own any type of business, your marketing shouldn’t just chase views—it should build connections.
I’ve built businesses for more than 30 years, and one thing has never changed:
People do business with people they know, like, trust AND REMEMBER.
Instead of trying to be louder than everyone else…
Be more valuable.
Instead of trying to impress everyone…
Serve someone.
That’s how you build a business that lasts.
I’d love to hear from you! 👇
