If you have ever thought, I don’t have time to send Christmas cards, or they are too expensive…..I CHALLENGE you to read this…..

ANOTHER REASON TO SEND CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY CARDS:

From April: – “Sierra and I are having the pleasure of spending this weekend with my 96 year old Grandpa.

I wanted to share this with you…. For those who think actual “holiday cards” are not that important to send out please continue to read.

This holiday will be my Grandpa’s first in 70 years that he will be celebrating it without my Grandma.

Yesterday, Sierra and I had taken him “to town” for dinner and when we were returning to his house I asked did we need to check his mail? He said “yes!”

Sierra got the mail and he asked “what did I get?” She said “a lot of Christmas cards!” He said “who are they from?”

Sierra was telling him the names on the envelopes.

We parked our car and helped him into the house.

The very first thing he did was sit down at the kitchen table and started opening every single card and SMILED as he was doing this.

He would REMINISCE about each person as he was reading their card.

It brought a smile to my face and made me realize greeting cards are still a timeless piece no matter how old you are!”

When I #speak at #events on #grief and #widows at #ministry and #church events and more all over the world, I mention and use this ALL the time…..

I *very much dislike* the people that use that #phrase #getoverit…..

If grief, especially a spouse, (but also other relationships) you didn’t get #divorced (or lose them), you didn’t #choose to leave and put that behind you.

Example of Bryan Delk – he went to #heaven, so it’s not like a divorce, where I put my life w him behind me….that will #NEVER happen.

I may decide to #MoveForward in my life, but I am never *moving on*…..Yes, there is a BIG #difference and if you have not lost someone SUPER close to you – you might not understand it – and you won’t till you do…..I never even came close to knowing how it felt till it happened…and I pray you never do…..

Same w my Mom, Jacalyn Baxter Lantrip, and the 8 other major losses I have had the last few years…..I didn’t choose to lose her – she was one of my best friends my whole life……I will always love and miss her and never *move on* from that…..

Now I will CHOOSE to live my life to the fullest and try to the way #God wants me to, as that is what those that have gone on before me would want for me…..

Yes cry, yes get angry, yes beat your pillow if that makes you feel better….but then get up and move forward…..cuz you are still breathing for a reason…… #MakeADifference in your #Dash while you are here <3
