God doesn’t call the qualified

Laurie’s Lesson #006
God Doesn’t Call the Qualified. He Qualifies the Called.

“Choosing Faith. Live with Purpose.”

Have you ever felt unqualified?

Like everyone else has more experience…
More knowledge…
More confidence…
More talent…

And then that little voice whispers:

“Who do you think you are?”
I’ve learned something over the years.

God has never been looking for perfect people.
He’s looking for willing people.

When God called Moses, he felt inadequate.
When God called Gideon, he felt weak.
When God called Esther, she felt afraid.

Again and again throughout Scripture, God chose ordinary people and did extraordinary things through them.

Why?
Because the power was never in the person.

The power was in God.

Sometimes we spend so much time focusing on what we lack that we forget Who is walking with us.

You may not feel ready.
You may not feel qualified.
You may not have all the answers.

But if God has placed something on your heart…
Don’t let fear talk you out of what faith is calling you toward.

The truth is…
Most of us grow into the calling.
We don’t arrive fully prepared.
We take one faithful step at a time.

And somewhere along the journey, we discover that God has been equipping us all along.

❤️ Stop focusing on your limitations.

Start focusing on God’s faithfulness.

Because He has never called anyone without also providing what they need for the journey.

📖 “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (KJV)

❤️ Today’s Reflection
Is there something God has placed on your heart that you’ve been avoiding because you don’t feel qualified?

🙏 Today’s Prayer
Lord, help me trust You more than I trust my fears. Remind me that You don’t call perfect people—you call willing hearts. Give me courage to take the next step, knowing that You will equip me for everything You’ve called me to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If this encouraged you today, share it with someone who needs the reminder that God can use ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

Happy 33rd Anniversary

🎉 Happy Anniversary to Me! 🎉

Today marks 33 years since I made one of the biggest decisions of my life—to become a Work-At-Home Mom and launch my web design, graphic design, branding, and marketing company.

What started as a leap of faith at my kitchen table has grown into a 33-year entrepreneurial journey filled with incredible opportunities, amazing people, lifelong friendships, and countless blessings from God.

Over these 33 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving thousands of clients, building multiple six-figure businesses, and operating almost entirely on referrals. That alone is a testimony to the power of relationships, integrity, and consistently serving others well.

Along the way…

➡️ At just 19 years old, I owned a custom blinds company, became the #1 salesperson, and earned an all-expense-paid trip to the Bahamas—my first taste of what was possible through hard work, persistence, and serving customers well.

➡️ I began my direct sales journey in my early 20s with Tupperware (yes, I earned the van! 😄).

➡️ I became a top leader in a health and wellness company in my later 20s.

➡️ I spent many years as one of the Top 20 leaders and a corporate trainer with a greeting card and relationship marketing company.

➡️ I had the honor of working alongside industry leaders, helping build online systems, coaching entrepreneurs, and supporting events that featured some of the greatest personal development speakers in the world, including Zig Ziglar.

➡️ I built a speaking and training career that has now spanned more than 25 years, speaking to audiences around the country and around the world.

➡️ I became a bestselling author, co-author, and contributor to multiple bestselling books, with another project on the horizon.

➡️ I founded and led successful networking organizations, trained hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs, and helped business owners grow through marketing, branding, relationship building, and leadership development.

➡️ Today, I continue to coach, train, mentor, and lead teams internationally while helping people discover natural, non-invasive wellness solutions and build businesses that create both income and impact.

And the learning never stops…

📚 For more than 30 years, I’ve averaged reading approximately a book a week on business, leadership, marketing, personal development, faith, and health.

🎓 I’ve invested in countless courses, certifications, conferences, and training programs to continually grow both personally and professionally.

📖 And now, at a stage when many people are slowing down, I’m going back to school to earn my Doctorate in Naturopathy because I believe God is still writing new chapters.

But perhaps the greatest lessons weren’t learned in business.

Thirteen years ago, my world changed forever when I unexpectedly lost my husband, Bryan. Suddenly, I found myself navigating unimaginable grief while raising our four children and trying to keep moving forward.

There were days when simply getting out of bed required faith.

There were moments when I didn’t know what the future would hold.

Yet even in the darkest seasons, God never left my side.

He carried me when I couldn’t carry myself.

He provided when I couldn’t see a way.

He healed what I thought would always be broken.

And in His perfect timing, He brought unexpected blessings, restoration, and a second chance at love when I married my wonderful husband, Kevin.

What once felt like the end of my story became the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.

That journey taught me that resilience isn’t about being strong enough—it’s about trusting God enough.

The journey hasn’t always been easy.

There have been victories and setbacks.
Mountaintops and valleys.
Joy and heartbreak.
Loss and restoration.

But through it all, God has remained faithful.

Every client.
Every stage.
Every book.
Every business.
Every opportunity.
Every blessing.
Every lesson.

None of it would have been possible without Him.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last 33 years, it’s this:

👉 Never stop learning.
👉 Never stop growing.
👉 Never stop serving.
👉 Never stop believing.
👉 Never stop trusting God’s timing.
👉 And never underestimate what God can do with a willing heart and a step of faith.

Here’s to 33 years of entrepreneurship, leadership, service, resilience, faith, and impact—and to whatever God has planned for the next chapter.

Thank you to every client, team member, student, coaching client, speaking event organizer, business partner, friend, and family member who has been part of this incredible journey. You have blessed my life more than you’ll ever know.

And most of all, thank You, Lord, for every open door, every closed door, every lesson, every blessing, and every opportunity to serve.

❤️ All Glory to God! ❤️

Don’t compare

Laurie’s Lesson #004
Don’t Compare Your Chapter 3 to Someone Else’s Chapter 30

“Choosing Faith. Live with Purpose.”

Comparison has a way of stealing our joy without us even realizing it.

We scroll through social media…
We celebrate someone else’s success…
Then suddenly we begin questioning our own worth, our progress, or even God’s plan for our lives.

But here’s what I’ve learned…
Most of us compare our weaknesses to someone else’s strengths.
We compare our behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel.
We compare our beginning to someone else’s breakthrough.

That’s not reality.
That’s distorted perspective.

The truth is…

You have no idea what someone has walked through to become the person they are today.

You don’t know the tears they’ve cried.
The prayers they’ve prayed.
The failures they’ve overcome.
The battles they’ve fought when no one was watching.

In the same way…
Others don’t know your story either.

God isn’t asking you to become someone else.
He created only one you.

Your life.
Your journey.
Your gifts.
Your testimony.
Your purpose.

They’re all uniquely yours.
Stop measuring your life against someone else’s ruler.

Instead…
Measure your life by one question:

“Am I becoming the person God created me to be?”

Your past does not define your future.
Your hardships do not determine your destiny.
God is still writing your story.

And His plans for you have never required you to compare yourself to anyone else.

Be faithful.
Be authentic.
Be grateful.

And most of all…
❤️ Be YOUniquely YOU.

📖 “For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves… but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” — 2 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)

❤️ Today’s Reflection

Have I been spending more time comparing my journey…or trusting God’s purpose for my life?

🙏 Today’s Prayer

Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve compared my life to others instead of trusting the beautiful story You’re writing for me. Help me celebrate the gifts You’ve given others without losing sight of the unique purpose You’ve created for me. Teach me to find my identity in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If this lesson encouraged you today, share it with someone who needs the reminder that they were never created to be a copy of someone else.

Bloom Where God Has Planted You

Laurie’s Lesson #003
Bloom Where God Has Planted You

Have you ever found yourself wishing you were already in the next season?

I’ve been there.

It’s easy to think…
“I’ll be happy when…”
“I’ll have peace when…”
“I’ll finally live with purpose when…”

But what if we’re overlooking the very place where God is doing His deepest work?

I’ve discovered that purpose isn’t something we arrive at one day.

It’s something we live every single day by being faithful with what’s right in front of us.

The small acts of kindness.
The quiet prayers no one else hears.
The encouraging text.
The handwritten card.
The conversation that reminds someone they aren’t alone.

None of those moments are small in God’s eyes.

Sometimes we’re so focused on the future that we forget God is working in the present.

Faithfulness today prepares us for tomorrow.

Blooming doesn’t happen because everything around us is perfect.
Flowers bloom because they’re connected to the One who gives them life.

No matter what season you’re walking through today, don’t underestimate what God can do through a heart that simply says…

“Lord, here I am. Use me.”

📖 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” — Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

❤️ Today’s Reflection
Where has God planted you today that you’ve been overlooking while waiting for “someday”?

🙏 Today’s Prayer
Jesus, help me to be faithful where You’ve planted me. Open my eyes to the opportunities You place before me today. Teach me to trust that even the smallest acts of obedience matter in Your Kingdom. May my life bloom wherever You choose to plant me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If this encouraged you today, I’d love to hear from you.
What is one place God has you right now where you can choose to be faithful today?

Waiting is not Wasting

Laurie’s Lesson #002
Waiting Is Not Wasting

“Choosing Faith. Living with Purpose.”

Have you ever felt like your life was on pause?

Like you’re waiting for the next opportunity…
Waiting for an answer…
Waiting for healing…
Waiting for a breakthrough…
Waiting for God to open the next door…

I’ve learned something that has changed the way I look at those seasons.

Waiting is not wasting.

Some of God’s greatest work happens in the quiet seasons when it feels like nothing is changing.

Roots grow before fruit appears.

Character is developed before influence is given.

Faith is strengthened before prayers are answered.

We often pray for God to move us into the next chapter…

While He’s lovingly preparing us to be ready when that chapter arrives.

Looking back over my own life, I can honestly say the seasons I wanted to rush through often became the seasons that shaped me the most.

If you’re in a season of waiting today…

Don’t lose heart.

God is still working.

Even when you can’t see it.

Even when you can’t feel it.

Even when you don’t understand it.

He’s never late.

He’s never absent.

And He never wastes a season.

📖 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

❤️ Today’s Reflection:
What if the season you’re trying to leave is actually preparing you for the season you’ve been praying for?

🙏 Today’s Prayer:
Jesus, help me trust You in the waiting. Teach me to see every season as an opportunity to grow closer to You. Strengthen my faith while You prepare my heart for what You have ahead. Help me remember that waiting with You is never wasted. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If this encouraged you today, I’d love to hear from you.
What are you trusting God for in this season? Let’s encourage one another in the comments. ❤️
