How to WIN over the gatekeeper

Happy Monday!

Have you ever experienced difficulty getting past the gatekeeper to meet with the decision-maker? 

Often, the gatekeeper has many questions that decipher if you will be allowed through to the person who makes the decisions. 

Questions from the gatekeeper can ultimately lead to:   
Product pitching 
Sales gibberish 
Convincing
Sales breath  

Which can sometimes leave you sounding desperate! Stop doing that! Start thinking RELATIONAL EXPERIENCE! 

Successful salespeople understand that the key to getting past the gatekeeper is establishing: 
Trust
Value
Credibility
Visibility
Relationships 

Moreover, you can establish all the above by doubling down on building relationships. 
Differentiate how you show up with these five suggestions: 
Purposeful listening 
Showing integrity
Adding a personal touch
Scrapping small talk
Exhibiting manners 

Skills 1, 2, 4 & 5 are habit-forming skills that need to be developed personally. (Be sure to check out the link I dropped below at the end of this email to see my favorite resource for personal development.)

How to Create Lifelong Customers and Organic Referrals in Your Business

    Combining online and offline marketing is essential to creating a bond between yourself and customers in today’s marketing world. 

    Online, we discover common ground by learning what makes a person tick.

    Online people share:
     
    1. Hobbies 
    2. Birthdays
    3. Anniversaries
    4. Challenges
    5. Questions
    6. Celebrations of all kinds

    And much more – they are helping you create an ‘online’ dialogue to find ‘common ground’ and possibly do business with them.

    Once common ground is established, taking the relationship ‘offline’ can strengthen the relationship, making it easier to build a personal connection.

    We can strengthen ‘offline’ relationships by:
     
    • Attending networking events and inviting your online connections to visit as a guest (if they live in the area) or being a guest on the ever-popular online webinars.
    • Build a presence in your local community by partnering with other businesses you have met online and offline in your area.
    • Direct Mail such as personalized postcards is marketing that your prospects and customers can touch, making it an emotional marketing experience.
    • Word of mouth advertising builds connection by serving, recognizing, and referring other people and their businesses – so they will want to help you promote your brand as well.

    Most importantly, bridging the online & offline gap balances the know, like, trust and remember factor needed to create lifelong customers and organic referrals in your business.

Increasing your bottom line with the most under-appreciated holiday!

Many companies ignore Valentine’s Day because they don’t recognize the potential positive impact on their bottom line.

Nowadays, research has shown that people enjoy receiving cards in the mail more than ever before.

Research also shows that communication with social media messages, texting, and the uncertainty of opening emailed e-cards (for fear of viruses) have a much lower response rate than sending a greeting card.

For sure it’s no surprise that when Valentine’s Day comes around, most people think of their:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Boyfriends

Marketing that blows your competition out of the water.

Answer these questions:

Happy 2022. I hope your year is off to a great start and life is treating you well.
