LAURIE’s LESSONS — don’t lose a 10k sale!
Salespeople – If you ignore, or seem dis-interested in your clients, or if you hound them, either way, you will turn them off, and not get the sale.
The key is to be attentive, as they need it, stay close, but far enough to give space, but not say hi and be gone!
We went out w my husband shopping….plan was to buy something, and I know most are commission based……2 places lost out on an almost 10k sale.
One said hi as we walked in, nothing else after, we were in the place almost an hour, no checking on us, when we were ready to ask a question, everyone was at the other side of the place, a group on each end, but none near us, so we left and went to the next.
Another was overpowering, checking way too often, and offering things without asking what we were looking for, so offering things that were great, but nothing like what we wanted.
The final was perfect…greeting us, letting us walk, when they saw we stayed looking at one for a little longer, came back up, asked if we had any questions on that one, and what exactly we were looking for….
None of the 3 had what we wanted in stock, but because this one asked what we wanted, he found it on his phone and showed it to us, talked to us a little more on pros n cons of different ones, and talked about other options we had, acted like he cared about us and being happy w what we got, as well as the sale…..
……And he got the sale 🙂 It *pays* to be a GOOD salesperson and look out for your clients interests 🙂 #LauriesLessons
Acknowledge Referral Givers
BUSINESS TIP
When you are in business, you can go out and get your sales, and that is good…..But MANY times, if you are good, your networking and relationship building is the utmost important – as you will get REFERRALS as you build that know, like, trust and REMEMBER with people.So WHEN you do get a REFERRAL from a friend or client, make SURE you ACKNOWLEDGE that!
Send them a thank you card, or a gift, or something, someway acknowledge that. That will lend them to WANT to send MORE REFERRALS your way, where not acknowledging that – can tend to make them NOT want to send referrals your way, as maybe you didn’t appreciate it.
My grandmother taught me when I was 5, thank people PROPERLY, if they did something for you, or gave you something, thank them – with a card (minimum).
Story – I have someone, that I referred someone to them, that spends thousands a month with this person….I have taught them, coached them….yet the referral was not even acknowledged w a voice thank you, nor a card or anything else. (Granted I did not do the referral to get the thanks…..but it is the story to share – for your moral character building :))

| I have a gift for you today so make sure to read to the end! Today’s mail is about the best kind of prompting. An Inner Prompting “A gift that comes from within.” Most of the time, a prompting is a thought or feeling that inspires you to: Do something Reach out Say something Share something Whatever the reason, your inner prompting motivates you to act. If you’re feeling defeated in sales, try this
The difference between being “interesting” or “interested” makes all the difference regarding customer influence.
Dale Carnegie was a talented American writer who specialized in lecturing and training business people on how to influence a prospect by improving:
Interpersonal skills
Salesmanship
Dale says:
“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” ~Dale Carnegie~
Let me ask you…
Do people perceive you as being:
Interested in the people you meet?
or
Consumed with being interesting?
If you’ve been more “interesting” than “interested”, here are 4 actions you can take to turn that around and influence the people you want to do business with:
Be a great listener.
Remember, words matter.
A smile goes a long way.
Show random acts of kindness.
These 4 small actions bring big rewards, not to mention great referrals!
Greeting cards are a great strategy to accomplish all 4 actions.
Most people use greeting cards for personal reasons. But think about the influence you’d have on a person’s perception when they receive a smile in their mailbox from you.
In fact, greeting cards are how the top 1-3% of salespeople encompass all 4 actions to stay undefeated!
The good news is, there is no reason to feel defeated!
Check out my favorite way to take action to influence your customers and prospects by showing you are genuinely interested in them:

Swim with crocodiles

When a group of #tourists visited a #crocodile farm, the owner of the place launched a #daring #proposal;
-Whoever #dares to #jump, #swim to shore and #survive, I will give 1 #million #dollars.
Nobody #dared to move….
#SUDDENLY a man jumped into the water and #desperately swam towards the shore while he was chased by all the #crocodiles.
With great luck he arrived, taking in the #admiration of everyone in the place, then the owner announced;
-We have a #BRAVE #winner.
After collecting their reward, the couple returned to the hotel, upon arrival, the manager told him; he was very brave to jump, then the man said;
-I didn’t jump, someone #pushed me!
His wife #smiled …
Moral: “Behind every successful man, there is a woman who pushes him.”
😛 😛 😛 😛
Let’s hear it for the #Ladies! 🙂
